FIFOG

16th Geneva International Oriental Film Festival (FIFOG)

Under the sign of hope, the 16th Geneva International Oriental Film Festival (FIFOG) will take place from 21 to 27 June 2021 in the canton of Geneva and its municipalities. This new edition offers around forty films, of all genres, celebrating Hope… a little, a lot, passionately.

Indeed, after the upheaval in the world caused by Covid-19, this theme has become an obvious one. The proverb says: “Hope brings life”. It also leads artists to sublime creations. Filmmakers in the East have always worked in a difficult context, and recently their situation has become more complicated with the current sanitary measures. But hope and courage have never deserted them. The FIFOG offers an anthology of their film works.

With the support of the Department of Culture of the City of Geneva, this new edition offers works by filmmakers from several countries of the East and West. The screenings will be accompanied by debates, conferences, artistic exhibitions, school programs and audiovisual training workshops.
