Planet Food

In a small town in Turkey, a man casually throws away half a loaf of bread when it becomes stale. Time starts to rewind and we see everything that had to happen to get that loaf of bread to his table.

This short film tells you everything that you need to know before you decide to throw away any amount of food or clothing. Sometimes it can be bought for large or small fees, or even at no cost. A loaf of bread goes through an incredible process to come to your table. The food might not have cost you much, but it took a lot of effort and sacrifice to get to your plate. Every piece of food thrown away adds to another man's hunger and wastes another person's labor.

But hope and courage have never deserted them. The FIFOG offers an anthology of their film works.

With the support of the Department of Culture of the City of Geneva, this new edition offers works by filmmakers from several countries of the East and West. The screenings will be accompanied by debates, conferences, artistic exhibitions, school programs and audiovisual training workshops.
